About Us
Founder - Akii Dean
After career ending hip surgery during his playing career at Ave Maria University, Akii founded Process Basketball Training. Studying the details of the top players in the world, Akii has put together a philosophy and developmental process to help any player he works with. Akii graduated Ave Maria University with a degree in Biology. At the young age of 30, Akii has worked with thousands of players at all levels. He is the only trainer to have developed 2 NBA Top 10 Draft Picks players, consecutively (working with them since high school before they were ranked.) Akii has worked with players in the NBA Pre- Draft Process, Olympic Gold Medalists, Division 1 athletes along with players just starting to learn the fundamentals of the game and develop that slight edge before their peers. He has also provided film breakdowns for some of the biggest NBA agencies in the world. He has hosted many of his own successful clinics and is currently working with some of the top up and coming HS talent in the nation, as well as helping NBA pros. In 2019 Akii also founded a partner company Tallahassee Basketball League, to provide tallahassee youth with the opportunity to teach the game and coach players on how basketball will translate to life. Akii directs and coaches one of the top travel basketball teams in the country in Judah Nation - sponsored by PBB alumni and NBA pro Jonathan Isaac. His purposeful, detailed oriented approach and game based workouts will push players to new levels, and teach players about life. His goal is emmulate Christ by loving, serving and caring about all players he works with.
Amber Dean
Amber Dean graduated from Ave Maria after 4yrs with a bachelors in biology and minor in conservation Biology. She played 3 years at Ave Maria University where she helped lead her team to a conference tournament win and played in 2 national tournaments. An unfortunate tibia stress fracture cut her career short, she then helped build Process Basketball with her Husband Akii Dean starting in 2014.
Amber has trained thousands of players including individually training players from beginners to Division 1 Level as well as helping train players in the NBA Pre Draft Process.
Amber is also a sports performance enhancement specialist (focusing on basketball) where she creates a detailed workout plan for players to reach their athletic potential based on where they are in their training journey.
Amber has also coached travel teams for the last 5yrs. Starting with beginners and local teams, to helping assistant coach one of the top travel basketball teams in the country in Judah Nation - sponsored by PBB alumni and NBA pro Jonathan Isaac.
Amber’s mission is to love and serve each player and family that walks through the door and give them her very best. Hold each player accountable on the court to help instill life lessons that carry over to all aspects of life not just basketball, all while providing them the best training to reach their goals.
Caio Santos
Coach Caio played at Daytona state college and 1 year professional overseas in Brazil for club Joinville. After a back and shoulder injury, he began his journey as a skill developer and coach. Having become one of the youngest Head coaches at 24 years old, where he would go on to lead legacy hope charter to one of the best seasons in school history, later become an assistant for CFCA where they won districts 4 years in a row and got to the regional final 3/4 years. In his time at cfca they had a 85% of their players go onto playing in college on scholarship at the d1 d2 d3 Naia and juco level. Coach Caio founded and developed Heart n Hustle basketball for past 10 years in Orlando, where he has worked with NBA, overseas professionals and many collegiate, highschool - elementary level kids to take their game to the next level.
Coach Caio takes pride in building lasting relationships with his athletes and families in order to provide the best service to his clients. He has built a philosophy of truthfulness and care for his clients, which he believes opens up the pathway for true in depth development for each athlete and the whole person. Coach is a practicing Christian and gives all glory to God for every opportunity he has been blessed to be apart of.
Coach Caio works as an international scout working hand in hand with Fiba coaches mainly in Brazil to help provide clinics and experiences for overseas youth. Also has helped many american players make contacts with coaches to play professionally in Brazil. Through his International Exhange camps and programs he’s helped players from Brazil and Suriname obtain full scholarships to play in the NCAA at all levels. Coach Caio has 5 years experience as strength and conditioning coach at well at the highschool level, has a passion for injury prevention and sport specific strength building. Has completed courses from esteemed professionals in the industry. Coach Caio is extremely knowledgeable in Vertimax training which is a transformational tool to help athletes increase speed and vertical jump. Coach Caio is eager to work with Process basketball and make his mark in Tallahassee. Co founder of Process sports academy a prep school designed to transform athletes from a basketball spiritual and mental standpoint.
